Grizzly Delivered a Drone Light Show for Hungary’s National Day

Grizzly Entertainment returned to Budapest for Hungary’s 2025 National Day, delivering a large-scale drone light show over the Danube River. The performance featured 750 drones and was part of a 30-minute multimedia production that included fireworks, lasers, lighting, projection mapping, and music.

A Major Public Event in Budapest

The show took place on 20 August, celebrating Saint Stephen’s Day, a national holiday marking the foundation of the Hungarian state. It’s one of the country’s most important annual events, drawing tens of thousands of spectators to the capital and reaching millions through national media.

This was the second consecutive year Grizzly took part in the celebration, and this time, our Greek team traveled to Hungary to deliver the show on-site.

Our Role

The drone show segment lasted around 5 minutes and was fully integrated with the broader production. Grizzly was responsible for:

• Drone flight planning and control

• Animation programming

• On-site operation and show execution

• Safety and airspace coordination

The show was produced in collaboration with Ignition Concept and Visual Europe Group (VEG).

What We Showed in the Sky

The 750 drones formed animated visuals representing:

• The Hungarian Crown

• Archangel Gabriel

• The Cross

Drones were launched from an area next to the Hungarian Parliament and flew across the middle of the Danube River, offering full visibility from both riverbanks and synchronizing with lighting, sound, and fireworks across the city.

A Moment of Pride

This project was a milestone for our team — not only for its scale and complexity, but also for the opportunity to represent our work abroad. Having our Greek team operate in such a high-profile European setting was a proud moment for Grizzly.
